"3GPP is pleased to support the LTE India conference - Mumbai Edition. We have supported this series from the outset and it has been interesting to see the progress made over the past three years.
At the 3rd LTE India 2012 conference. In New Delhi - earlier this year, it was useful to receive operator presentations from other nations and in particular from those that have already launched LTE, such as NTT DoCoMo in Japan. I hope that the International operator and vendor community will also be present at the Mumbai edition of the LTE India series.
This year is vital for the evolution of the 3GPP system, as we celebrate many commercial launches - including the first commercial LTE network in India. The successful launch of these new networks is a major topic for discussion, as we try to learn from the experience gained and prepare for further announcements in the coming months.
I am happy to see senior representatives of the Department of Telecommunications playing such an active role in these Bharat Conferences, I feel that this underlines the importance of mobile broadband access in all levels of society in India.
