As Indian cities continue to urbanize rapidly, the challenges of public safety, law enforcement, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation have become increasingly complex. Urban areas are witnessing rising incidents of crime, cyber threats, gender-based violence, and road fatalities — all of which directly impact the quality of life and socio-economic development. The Safe City initiative is crucial in this context, aiming to leverage technology, data analytics, and inter-agency coordination to enhance safety and security in public spaces. Supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, several Indian cities are now deploying integrated command and control centers, AI-powered surveillance systems, emergency response networks, and predictive policing tools to create safer urban environments. Parallelly, Intelligent Mobility is emerging as a cornerstone of India’s Smart City Mission. With increasing investments in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, AI-driven traffic management, and multi-modal transport systems, cities are being reimagined to prioritize safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The push toward EV adoption, backed by government incentives and policies like FAME II, aims to reduce vehicular emissions and dependency on fossil fuels. The integration of Intelligent Transport Systems, digital ticketing, smart traffic lights, road safety policies and real-time public transport information is transforming how citizens move within cities.

The 3rd Safe City and Intelligent Mobility India 2025 Summit is scheduled for August 28th, 2025, at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi. Under the theme "Transforming Urban Safety and Mobility: Innovating for a Smarter, Safer India," the summit aims to address the pressing challenges of urban safety and mobility through innovative solutions and collaborative efforts. The summit’s focus on urban mobility, traffic management, smart infrastructure, and public safety aligns directly with vision of building safer, more efficient, and technology-driven road networks across the country. This premier event will bring together policymakers, law enforcement agencies, transport authorities, technology providers, and urban planners to discuss these critical intersections — from securing digital and physical spaces to building inclusive, resilient, and future-ready urban mobility frameworks.

Building upon the success of its previous editions, the summit will feature comprehensive discussions on topics such as intelligent traffic management, surveillance systems, emergency response strategies, and the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) Artificial Intelligence (AI), and 5G connectivity to enhance urban safety measures and mobility solutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in knowledge-sharing sessions, explore innovative solutions, and forge strategic partnerships aimed at fostering safer and smarter cities across India.
